Biota Dining, Bowral

This whole Noma movement has taken the world by storm. Who would have ever imagined to go along the road, dig out the first green thing you see and eat it. Sounds like what a two year old would do. Like a recipe to get a drug induced high more so than gastronomic enlightenment. And yet we have restaurants all over the world basing their entire concept on the art of foraging.

Hartsyard, Newtown

Hartsyard has been on my agenda for a long long while. I mean seriously it's on the same road as my uni and I manage to go to other places that are half way around the city instead. American 'dude food' isn't my thing and neither is an 'aren't we all hip?' mindset but Hartsyard has, for a long while, filled hipsters with hearty guilt-inducing food happily and a visit was inevitable.

Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay, Glebe

Uni days and tutoring are long and arduous. Some people cry, others shop, I eat. Boathouse is semi on the way to my uni but some how I managed to get us lost. Only me.

The Fish Shop, Potts Point

Boy, Merivale really is building up quite an impressive collection of restaurants. This is like what... the 10th? CEO Justin Hemmes really has a talent of spotting well... talent. He's hooked in a big fish in acclaimed British chef Jeremy Strode and has since then create 2 restaurants with him; Bistrode CBD and the newly opened Fish Shop. My friend and I literally walked a circle around the City the other day go from Newtown to Potts Point and pretty much back and around it and we ended up at the Fish Shop.

Movida Sydney, Surry Hills

Movida has been a buzzing center point of Sydney's foodie attention of late. Having only recently opened it's doors, a typical booking would most likely promise failure on multiple attempts but like any good thing worth having, it takes a little time. 20 minutes on the phone in fact. Just waiting.

No, we aren't the most amazing gastronomes or chefs. Heck, half our team doesn't even know how to cook... well. However, what we really love is eating. And lots of it. We enjoy that occasional freebie, filling up that craving for a midnight snack and finding a 20 in our pockets that we thought we never had, and using that as an excuse to go out eating. As we battle the ongoing war on uni student poverty, we'll bring you the most swoon worthy recounts of our latest foodie adventures.
